Upcycled Market: Great Start to the Season

Person lino-printing fabric at a colorful market stall, bent over a table with clothes hanging behind.

Last week kicked off my first market of the season with the Upcycled Market. I know I’m a little late to the party, but I’m allowing myself some grace this year and taking everything at a slower pace than last year.

But what a start! I was so, so thrilled with the Upcycled Market hosted in the parking lot of the Celtic Junction Arts Center in Saint Paul. This was one of the first iterations of this market, which can be a gamble, but I’m glad I took it. There was live music the whole time and a great turnout.

Hands peel a black floral lino print from a purple T-shirt on a craft table, revealing a fresh retro design.

I was really excited to get things going with the live prints, but tempered my expectations when it hadn’t happened in the first hour or two. Once one of my fellow vendors had trailblazed it, there was much more interest.

Despite damp weather, the attendance stayed relatively steady, and spirits were high.

I had an incredible time doing the live printing, so I’m glad I’ll get to do it again today.

I’m at Swede Hollow today for Art in the Hollow until 5:00 PM, so swing by and bring something to print!
