Created during my final college semester, this piece embodies the complex feelings of anticipation and uncertainty that accompany major transitions. Simultaneously being fearful and excited to step into an unknown future that God holds for me.

Handcrafted Using Traditional Intaglio Technique

Space Oddity showcases the beauty of simple printmaking through the time-honored intaglio method. Working on plexiglass, I carefully scratched intricate linework using sharp tools, then applied vibrant blue inks by hand with paint brushes. The process involved two distinct pressings—first capturing the atmospheric celestial elements, then adding the defining black linework in a second pass.

This is the only print from this plate created with the blue swirls and no color anywhere else in the piece, making it a truly one-of-a-kind. While other impressions exist from the same plate, this particular color combination was never repeated, ensuring you own the sole example of this specific artistic vision. This traditional approach to printmaking allows for such creative experimentation, resulting in a completely unique artwork that no other collector can possess.
