“The Power of Creativity”: Part II

Art and science, two themes I interpreted as important elements of this “Science Wonder Stories” poster, are saturated with creativity. Both require imagination and vision - an artist to conjure new visuals and a scientist to hypothesize. A scientist without creativity is an observer, and an artist without it is a swindler. At its core, problem-solving is creativity.

I believe that humans have an innate ability to be creative because we are made in the image of a creative God. But what happens when imperfect humans decide what is and is not a problem that needs a creative solution? That is the very question I chose to ask in “The Power of Creativity I” and subsequently its partner piece “The Power of Creativity II.”
There is so much potential in a blank canvas or an unasked question. But will the user decide to create a message of love or one of hate? Will an inventor use their skills to create a tool for humanity or a weapon of destruction?
Following this logic leads one to ask the inevitable question, “So what is good and evil?” And to that, the only answer I know would be from our Creator himself, who declared, “I am the way and the truth and the life...” (John 14:6) So that is how I dictate the ways in which I use my creativity -whether it is honoring to God and loving to my fellow man or not.
